Well, we had our 5th and 6th softball games this week, and at best I had a mediocre week. The lines:
Game 5: 0-3, 0R, 0RBI — 10C, 5PO, 2E
Game 6: 1-3, 1R, 0RBI — 12C, 9PO, 0E
Tuesday’s game was probably the worst I’ve ever played. I got good contact on the ball but hit it TO someone every time. And defensively I made two big errors and one costly mental mistake. We still won, with no help from me. Continue Reading »

I feel like this emu right now - pulling my hair out after having waited until the last minute to do my taxes. You know - more than a little disheveled, with that glassy look in my eye.
Taken at Noah’s Ark, a great little refuge that takes in unwanted or illegal wild animals and tries to give them a better life, located near Locust Grove, GA. You can learn more about the refuge here.

Or are these two eerily similar? I’m just sayin’.

We had just gotten home from grocery shopping and I was making some brunch when our neighbor came to the door.
“Um, do you know that you have a branch through the back window of your car?”
Needless to say, I didn’t. It turns out that a large branch from one of our oaks had landed across the entire top of my car - this part through the back windshield, and another section that dented the roof in 3 places in the back and 2 in the front, both of which cracked the front windshield, too.
Oh, did I mention the driving rain we were having at the time?

…and a yo ho ho and a bottle of Advil.
Last Friday, some township workers knocked on our door to ask me to move my car to protect it from the blighted oak tree they were going to cut down in our neighbors yard . But I asked them if they wouldn’t mind leaving some of that wood on the planning strip so that I could get some firewood out of it. Continue Reading »

Well, another year has past and we’re on the cusp of hitting 2008 in stride. And as usual, everyone will make resolutions about all of the things that they will do better in 2008 than they did in 2007. BUT, how did I do on the goals I set for THIS year? Let’s take a look: Continue Reading »

I haven’t been around much, I know, but I had to put something up about this. Yep, I’m now one of the privileged folks who has enjoyed the wonders of MRSA, or Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus, thanks to a spider bite about a week ago. Continue Reading »

Today I did my first jury duty - well, at least I reported for it. I didn’t end up getting called to serve on any juries, just sat around for 4 hours and then received my certificate for being a good boy and sent home. Or work, in my case. So, I got paid to read my book and do crossword puzzles, which wasn’t so bad. Continue Reading »

Talk about irony. I just started working on a site for a migraine medication, which was cool since I have suffered from migraines since I was a kid. However, over the last few years, they’ve been getting progressively fewer and fewer, which I can’t say that I mind. In fact, it’s been about 6 months since I have had a migraine, and I had thought that I was doing pretty well. Then, today I got to remember how much migraines suck. Nothing like an ol’ migraine to remind you of why a good migraine medicine is so valuable.
Well, at least I won in fantasy football to win my 4th week in a row and move to 5-3.

I heard a really odd thing in passing as I was walking to work today. I clean-cut guy in business casual wear passes while talking on his cell phone. The only thing I hear as he goes past…
“…dancing naked around the cauldron…”
