Weekend

2020 Sucked. I'm going to try to make it a better 2021.

I just spent HOURS trying to figure out why a page that I was doing wasn’t working in IE. It...
Well, we had another good trip down toward the shore - this time to Cape May, NJ for some hiking, birding, photography and ... well, a lot of driving, really. But it was worth it. Despite two days of rain, the trails were mostly dry, it was beautiful out, and we got to see a few new birds and got a LOT of great new pictures.
After all of these years, it turns out that they are not extinct. Great news as they have been spotted...
Wow, has it really been that long. Strange how time flies when you're out sweating while building new flower beds.
Part 2 of the birding vacation has come and gone. Instead of Cape May, we went to Edwin B. Forsythe National Wildlife Refuge (Forsythe NWR) in Brigantine, NJ.
Well, it's official - I'm on the first real week of my voluntary severance package. While I have to admit that it felt great to sleep in until 9 a.m. (I'm still recovering from the bachelor party Saturday night), it's also kind of scary. I'm not unemployed in the sense of not getting paid, but I still have no place to head every weekday morning to rip the creative, moral and spiritual energy from me ... um, I mean place to 'have a job'.
My wife and I decided to take a few days to play hooky with my extra time right now (well, extra in that I don't have a 9-5 job to attend; I still have projects to work on). ANYHOO, tomorrow it is a trip to Cape May but today it was what was supposed to be a 2-hour trip to John Heinz National Wildlife Refuge (AKA Tinicum) to check out the local waterfowl migration.
Well, I'm in the final week of work at my current company. It's kind of bittersweet to leave - although it opens a lot of doors, it's a scary proposition to get out there looking for something else. I've got the side projects, but I have a lot of stuff that I need to get done in a short time here first.
