The “Oh Sh!t” Moment

The

Northern Harrier (Circus cyaneus) vs.
Cooper’s Hawk (Accipiter cooperii)

This poor Cooper’s Hawk really didn’t make the proper entrance to Forsythe NWR. Every time we’ve seen him, it’s only a minute or two before one or more Norther Harriers swoop in to give him the ‘what for’.

To his credit - he really stuck it out, getting harassed for about 5 minutes until the harriers just gave up.

I hope to put up a quadptych later showing the swoop action…

    Wow, great job capturing that moment. I’m surprised the little guy stuck around for so long!
