That has to be really weird to see your ex like that. I’ve never had a porn buddy, or a porn buddy’s mom. I’m kind of sad about that. All this time I’ve had to find whatever I wanted by myself.

But Van’s joke cracked me up so I’m feeling better now.

In my heydey in my early 20s, I was playing in a band in Atlanta and I knew my role. Lead guitar players are supposed to date strippers. Ergo, I dated strippers. And this kind of thing was something you don’t get used to. “Hey Van, I saw your girlfriend naked last night”

Wow … it has to be bizarre seeing a picture of your ex like that. I wouldn’t even know what to say.

One thing that was always weird to me is that when I was in high school, one of my friends had a “porn buddy” (in the e-mailing sense, not in the taking-his-porn-upon-death sense. But his “porn buddy” was his mom! The things she sent weren’t truly pornographic … just risque … but that was seriously weird. Sometimes, he would forward these things to me, and I would see some comment from his mom in the forwarded message.

Now, I don’t think there was anything more sinister going on there, I think it was just supposed to be for a laugh. But it sure was weird.
