Good Days

You know, sometimes your wife can be a bad influence on you, like when you are getting ready to sit down and do more work, and she suggests that perhaps a trip to Longwood Gardens would be a better use of your time. Such it was after a long period of oppressive heat followed by stormy weather broke to reveal a beautiful day. And never being one to turn away a chance to go shoot some photos, I reluctantly agreed.

Turned out to be a great day of shooting pictures, despite some major mental lapses behind the camera (when shooting at f/22, a flash is a good thing to have turned on). In the end, we both had a great time walking around, talking and taking pictures of butterflies, moths and dragonflies. Shari got some awesome shots, and I added a couple new species ( Snowberry Clearwing, American Lady) to my lifelist (see pictures below). The weather was beautiful and getting out and walking without sweating my a** off was a nice treat. Of course, I did have to go back home and work, but it was worth getting out and getting some good shots.
