Bonds: The Proof Is Out There

He’s going down. It’s painfully obvious to everyone except perhaps Mr. Personality himself.

I’ve been listening to the uproart and it’s funny because a local sports talk station was giving fans a hard time because they got caught up in the excitement of the record chase, but have ‘the gall to be upset now’. Personally, I think it’s easy – you were caught up in the moment and suspicious but there was no proof. Now the proof is out there and fans feel cheated.

McGwire admitted using andersterone because it was not on MLB’s banned substances list; therefore he knowingly used something, but also made sure to know it was allowed (or at least not DISALLOWED). Although he denied using other steroids, I think he did but he was a monster from the start so it is possible he did it naturally.

Then there’s Mr. Bonds who went from a max of sub-40 HR years for most of his career and then in his late 30’s/early 40’s becomes a 70+HR hitter. Before 1999, the most HR he had in a season was 46 in 1993, where his HR per AB was 1 in every 11.7; similarly, his career average was 1 HR every 16.1AB. Granted, he was better in later years, but still averaging almost 13AB for every dinger. Then after the 1999 season, when he started extra-curriculars, his totals went up – way up:

Year AB HR AB/HR
1986 413 16 25.8
1987 551 25 22.0
1988 538 24 22.4
1989 580 19 30.5
1990 519 33 15.7
1991 510 24 21.3
1992 473 34 13.9
1993 539 46 11.7
1994 391 37 10.6
1995 506 33 15.3
1996 517 42 12.3
1997 532 40 13.3
1998 552 37 14.9
Pre-Roids 6621 410 16.1
1999 355 34 10.4
2000 480 49 9.8
2001 476 73 6.5
2002 403 46 8.8
2003 390 45 8.7
2004 373 45 8.3
Post-Roids 2477 292 8.5

Suddenly, six straight seasons that are better than any season he had before. Likely, no … and now the proof is in the Clear. Most evident is his record-breaking season with an incredible HR ever 6.5 at-bats. It was suspicious then – and damnable now.
Baseball should ban him and remove his records for this – it’s obvious he cheated, cheated badly, lied to investigators (which should also mean perjury charges). He’s a scumbag who deserves none of the adulation he receives, but should instead be scorned because he’s a cheater and an asshat to boot. But since baseball has absolutely no balls whatsoever, they’ll stick their heads in the sand. I don’t suppose it would be legal to throw syringes at Barry everywhere he plays this season, would it?
